born in suffolk, went to college in london, moved to derbyshire in 2001. in 2009 graduated from the university of derby with a ba(hons) in fine art. in 2011 the snee snaw project was funded by the arts council.
i’m interested in space, time and play with one path of research being the non linear project. i keep reflective blogs including the 2018 blog scope to play and the non linear documentary commission from the silk mill in derby.
artistic works have appeared in group shows at the surface gallery nottingham, the august galler london and quad in derby. residencies include an artists access to art college residency at nottingham trent university and a maker residency at the derby silk mill during the museum’s research phase as it progressed towards becoming the museum of making . through social media connections i’ve had work shown in sweden and austria. through participation with the figment festival i’ve had collaborative works in boston and new york. in november 2018 shimmering place will feature in the mina festival in melbourne australia.
as a forest school leader i practice at an after school club and transfer these skills into other learning environments including derby museums where i practice as a facilitator on the lifelong learning programme.
a project i facilitated was a runner-up at the 2017 east midlands heritage awards.
i’ve had a formal diagnosis for dsylexia since 2008.
i live and work in derbyshire.
